SCHOOL  HISTORY

In 1927 at a "Villa Adelaida" lunch where Don Camilo Sáenz Obregón, Don Jorge Durana Camacho, the owners of the house Don Agustín Nieto Caballero and his wife Doña Adelaida Cano de Nieto, spoke about the need of Bogotá to have a good school for girls, that could give them a good education and culture, that at the same time preserve family traditions, faith in God, sincerity, companionship, morals, love of the country and their home.

It was thought that the new school was an extension of the Gimnasio Moderno but it was concluded that the new school was an independent school, this decision was made by Agustín Nieto Caballero, Jorge Durana Camacho, Camilo Sáenz Obregón, Miguel López Pumarejo, Rafael Escallón and Jorge Triana.

In January 1928 the first board of directors was integrated by the following people: Agustín Nieto Caballero, Camilo Sáenz Obregón, Carlina Mariño de Muñoz, Miguel López Pumarejo, Inés Samper de Durana, Adelaida Cano de Nieto, Rafael Escallón, Jorge Durana Camacho, Jorge Triana and Daniel Samper Ortega. Doña Carlina Mariño de Muñoz was commissioned to be the ditector of  the school and Ms. Celia Duque Jaramillo and Ms. Alicia Sanín were appointed as teachers.

First the GimnasioFemenino was located in a house property of Don Esteban Jaramillo situated in the Calle. 72 #5-25.  And now the school is located in  Cra. 7 #128-40.
